Boots and bling

The doctors turned in their scrubs for jeans and cowboy hats for the annual Rexanna’s Foundation For Fighting Lung Cancer fundraiser; all the proceeds go directly to lung-cancer research at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. A barbecue buffet and auctions entertained the patrons when they weren’t two-stepping to country-western singer Josh Grider. Dr. Thang Le and his wife, Amanda Ton, and Gerri Anne Looney and Kim Perdomo were in the crowd to  support efforts to eliminate lung cancer and improve detection methods, in honor of Rexanna Hawkins, 49, a nonsmoker who died of lung cancer in 2006, two months after her diagnosis.
